Back To Back Champions By: Liam Connor
Is this the most dominant team in Jasper history? The Volleyball team stood almost perfect in the regular season; one of the first times this has happened in our sports. The Eagle’s were led by seniors Livia Dumm, Laney Cawyer, and Taylor Hinds. The girls capped off the regular season with a 32-1-1 record and they also captured a district championship against Liberal, defeating them in 3 sets in dominating fashion. This season was an amazing improvement from last year and the entire team showed drastic steps forward in their overall gameplay. Following districts, the team continued their strong play in sectionals, defeating Archie in 3 sets. The Lady Eagles came up a little short in the state quarterfinal game, falling to Galena in a hard-fought 5-set battle.

Overall their final record was 35-2-1, three tournament championships, back to back district championship, and a sectional championship. Post-season honors went to Crystal Smith, Livia Dumm, and Shiloh Storm making the All-District 1st team, and Laney Cawyer and Alivea Roberts being named to the All-District 2nd team. Livia Dumm and Shiloh Storm also made All-Conference 2nd team, while Crystal Smith was on All-Conference 1st team in addition to winning Player of the Year. This was an amazing season to watch and we’re so proud of all the girls accomplished. It was awesome to see them dominate and we hope they can do it again next year.
