High School Counselor Stacy Pope is the approved Jasper R-V Homeless student and McKinney-Vento liaison. She has served in this capacity for the last several years, but this serves as your official notification that she continues to serve all students/families who fall into either of those classifications.
The term “homeless children and youth”—
A. means individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence...; and
B. includes — i. children and youths who are sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason; are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations; are living in emergency or transitional shelters; or are abandoned in hospitals;
ii. children and youths who have a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings...;
iii. children and youths who are living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar settings; and iv. migratory children...who qualify as homeless for the purposes of this subtitle because the children are living in circumstances described in clauses (i) through (iii).
If you have knowledge of such students who would fall into either of these classification, please don’t hesitate to contact Stacy Pope in the High School Counseling Office.
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Moss has been selected for Missouri’s inaugural Personalized Competency-Based Master Teacher Cadre (PCBL MTC)! She is one of just 94 educators across the state chosen for this prestigious program, which is designed to elevate teaching practices through personalized, student-centered learning.
Hosted by the Success-Ready Students Network in partnership with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the PCBL Master Teacher Cadre empowers educators to develop the expertise and leadership skills of a master teacher. In this role, Mrs. Moss will not only continue to excel in her own classroom but will also serve as a mentor and resource to colleagues, supporting the effective implementation of PCBL within our district and beyond.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Moss! We are grateful to have her represent Jasper R-V School District!
